New Zealand is full of budding photographers hoping to be the next Anne Geddes. From holiday snaps to slice of life images, all Kiwis enjoy sharing their photographs with friends and family.
Mighty River Power is now giving all aspiring photographers and enthusiastic amateurs the opportunity to share their photos with a wider audience and win a fantastic prize.
This is the fifth year of the Mighty River Power Photographic Competition. The 2006 competition consists of three sections – Secondary School, Tertiary and Non-Professional. A winner and runner up will be chosen by two judges from each of the three sections and the school or institution which provides the winning entry in the Secondary and Tertiary sections will also receive a cash prize.
Mighty River Power’s General Manager of External Affairs, Neil Williams is anticipating the 2006 entries will be of a high standard
“The quality of entries has gone from strength to strength since the competition began in 2002 and I’m really looking forward to seeing the photographs this year. Showcasing new talent is becoming a tradition and I’m keen to see it continued,” he said
Schools, tertiary institutions, and photography clubs will receive promotional material in the next few weeks and entry forms will also be available on Mighty River Power’s website.
Entries for the competition close at 5pm on 29 September 2006.
