Redesign reflects action on community concerns
Mighty River Power says its decision to remove turbines in a redesign of the Turitea Wind Farm is a demonstration of its commitment to act on community concerns.
The company today confirmed it has deleted 21 turbines and relocated 44 others into more recessive locations in response to matters raised through the Turitea Board of Inquiry hearing.
The company believes that the modifications made to more than 50 per cent of the turbine locations since the applications were notified in January 2009 represent a material change and underscore the company’s commitment to listen to the local community.
Mighty River Power says as the matter is still before the Board of Inquiry, it is not appropriate to comment in detail on the redesign.
