The main station plant and auxiliaries are all controlled from this panel in the station control room. The station is attended 24/7.

The lower photo shows part of the evaporator on the binary generation cycle which generates electricity from the hot water that is separated from the steam.

This shows the part of the reinjection pipework which pumps the geothermal fluid back into the ground after it has been through the PowerStation. All the fluid from Mokai is reinjected into the ground to replenish and sustain the geothermal reservoir.

This is the nameplate describing the output of each of the four generators at Whakamaru power station

06. Mokai

The long pipeline leads from the geothermal production wells to the separator unit that separates the incoming steam from the hot water. The steam feeds into the steam turbine while the hot water feeds the binary turbines

07. Waipapa wicket gates

The turbine wicket gates are being set up above the Kaplan turbine during a major overhaul of the generating unit.
